The Problem
Many elderly residents and low-income families in rural Palestinian communities lack basic digital literacy, preventing them from accessing essential government services, healthcare information, and educational opportunities that have moved online.
The Initiative
We established weekly digital literacy workshops in community centers across 5 villages, providing hands-on training with donated tablets and laptops. Each session covered essential skills: email, government portals, video calls with family abroad, and online banking. We created easy-to-follow Arabic guidebooks and recruited 15 university students as volunteer instructors.
Why It Matters
Digital inclusion is critical for social equity. By empowering community members with digital skills, we're enabling access to healthcare, education, and economic opportunities while fostering intergenerational connection and reducing isolation.
