Project Story

Atharuha, meaning “her impact” in Arabic, is about bringing the stories of women entrepreneurs into the light. At its heart, Atharuha follows a ripple effect: women who take part today are encouraged to mentor and support future participants of tomorrow.

  • Across Palestine, many women are building small businesses, leading community efforts, and creating real change around them. Yet most of these stories remain unseen. Their work grows quietly within their neighborhoods, without the visibility or recognition it deserves.

When these stories go untold, the wider community misses the chance to learn from them, support them, and be inspired by their journeys.

  • The Atharuha initiative identifies women entrepreneurs and community leaders, listens to their journeys, and documents their experiences through professional interviews and reports. Their stories, starting from where they began, the obstacles they faced, and the successes they built are shared across digital platforms so more people can discover and support their work.

Atharuha also creates a living database of these businesses, allowing the team to follow their progress, understand their needs, and track the long-term impact of the initiative.

Beyond storytelling, the project brings women together through community seminars and exhibitions, where they can present their work, connect with others, and exchange experiences. Participants will also have access to training sessions that help strengthen skills such as promotion, storytelling, and presenting their businesses.

  • When one woman’s story is seen, it is not just a celebration of her work, it also opens doors for others.

Atharuha aims to create a growing platform where women’s achievements are visible, their businesses are supported, and their stories inspire others to take the same path.

Since our last update, the Atharuha team has worked on establishing a clear identity for our initiative. We designed our own logo and adopted purple as our main brand color. We also launched our social media platforms across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and YouTube, in addition to developing and launching our official website.

We have also focused on expanding our reach by collaborating with supportive organizations to promote our initiative, including the “Enti Laha” platform, which supports Palestinian women, and YALO Women Association. Our collaboration with “Enti Laha,” which has approximately 41,000 followers on Facebook, helped us reach a wider audience and increase awareness about our initiative.

On the ground, we visited Souq Al-Manshiya in Nablus, where we met around 30 Palestinian women entrepreneurs. We documented their stories and are currently transforming them into written and visual content. So far, we have published 8 articles and produced 3 documentary-style videos highlighting their journeys and businesses.

We were also hosted on Radio Tariq Al-Mahabba, where we introduced our initiative, discussed its goals, and shared our participation in the competition, helping us raise further awareness.

In addition, we created a database of women through an online registration form, allowing us to better organize our work and reach more beneficiaries.

Currently, we are working on producing more video content to be published soon, and we are preparing to organize a training workshop aimed at supporting and empowering women entrepreneurs.

April 14th Update

Since our last submission, our team has continued working actively on expanding the reach and impact of Atharuha. We collaborated in organizing and visiting a women’s bazaar aimed at supporting and showcasing women-led businesses, where we reached approximately 30 women entrepreneurs. The level of cooperation was very high, and it was especially encouraging to find that some women were already familiar with the initiative and had previously heard about Atharuha, reflecting a growing presence in the community. In addition, we were hosted on Radio Al-Hayat, where we spoke in detail about the initiative, its goals, and its social impact, which helped us increase our visibility and reach a wider audience. The interview can be accessed here: https://www.facebook.com/share/v/19TUDWckFS/?mibextid=wwXIfr

. On the field level, we also visited 6 women entrepreneurs, where we documented their stories and filmed interviews that are currently being prepared and will be published sequentially on our social media platforms. A key strength of our initiative is its multiplied impact, as each woman we visit usually recommends at least three other women entrepreneurs, allowing us to expand organically and reach more beneficiaries through trust and community connections. Furthermore, the stories and videos we produce do not only promote existing businesses, but also inspire other women in the community to overcome fear and take the step toward starting their own projects.
